A Girl and Her Books

After mentioning last week that one of my goals this year is to read more, some of you asked what I’ve been reading. So, I thought I would share my reads with you today. The books vary in subject matter but were deliberately chosen for what I needed at that moment.

Here is a super quick blurb about each book:

January’s read was Fresh Air by Chris Hodges. It is an easy-to-read, fantastic text and I highly recommend it – very encouraging and refreshing. Chris covers helpful principles to incorporate into everyday life that will bring the “breath of Fresh Air” we all long for. Exactly what I needed and a perfect read for the beginning of a new year. You can learn more about Fresh Air and purchase the book here.

Since another of my goals for this year was to get this blog on its feet, I felt a book about blogging would be a good fit. For February I chose How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul by Ruth Soukup. It is a very practical read. Comprehensive without overwhelming.  Definitely a great choice for any beginning blogger. Ruth is great at laying out basic steps in the correct order. After five years of stalling to start this blog, she convinced me to jump in. Check out Ruth’s book here.

March’s read was more for fun home inspiration, A Touch of Farmhouse Charm: Easy DIY Projects to Add a Warm and Rustic Feel to Any Room. I’ve followed the author, Liz Fourez, for years on her blog Love Grows Wild. While I browsed through this book in a day, I will definitely want to refer back to it often.  I came away with several DIY ideas. Let’s just say a couple of them may show up in later posts. 😉 Find out more about Liz’s book here or purchase here.

I’m eager to start April’s book: Margin: Restoring Emotional, Physical, Financial, and Time Reserves to Overloaded Lives by Richard A. Swenson. Couldn’t we all use a little more margin? I’m really looking forward to reading it! Learn more and purchase it here.

What about you? Have you read anything interesting lately? Let me know by leaving a comment below. I’m always adding to my “books to read” list.
